Vashishtha Narayan Singh was one of India’s greatest mathematicians, born on 2 April 1942 in Basantpur, Bihar. From childhood, he showed an extraordinary talent for mathematics. Teachers and classmates were amazed by his ability to solve complex problems mentally with great speed and accuracy.
He studied at Patna Science College, where his brilliance caught everyone’s attention. Later, he went to the University of California, Berkeley, and completed his Ph.D. in Mathematics. His research was deep and ahead of its time. He even worked at NASA for a short period, where his ideas impressed many scientists.
It is said that Dr. Vashishtha Narayan Singh once challenged Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, showing his fearless and independent thinking. Though his ideas were never fully published, they reflected his deep understanding of the universe and his confidence to question even the greatest scientific minds.
Unfortunately, he later suffered from mental illness, which affected his career and life. Despite all difficulties, his love for mathematics never faded. He passed away on 14 November 2019, but his legacy continues to inspire young minds.
